The Campaign
Paint Merced Pink
Every October, the Merced Cancer Society Foundation and the City of Merced turn Merced pink for breast cancer awareness. It runs the full month — storefronts, city landmarks, community events, and neighborhoods all take part.
Every dollar raised stays in Merced County. MCSF is not a treatment provider and we don't fund research. We pay the gas, the groceries, and the utility bill so a neighbor in active treatment can keep their appointment.
Where Your Booth Fits
The Culmination & Flock the Yard
The month opened on October 1 and closes on October 29 with the Culmination Event — the day vendors anchor. All month long, Flock the Yard sends a flock of pink flamingos into yards across Merced — a neighbor flocks a friend, the flock moves on, and the campaign travels block by block.
The Culmination is where residents meet the campaign face to face: they pick up campaign shirts, celebrate a month of flamingos, and meet the organizations doing the work. Your booth is part of that.
